Makonge Village is home to 150+ children who have been orphaned by the border fighting between Somalia and Kenya. Governments fight about oil rich waters, but attacks kill families on the ground. Makonge Village is a loving home for these children, with pastoral care and a great track record.
The home started as a school under a tree. Then local widows built a mud brick home. Now there is a fully government accredited school for the children, and these kids recently scored number one in the county on their standardized government tests!
It’s also beautiful to see graduates grow up and come back to donate time and material to see Makonge Village thrive.
