Stats?
Just let me give you a few:
one in four victims of modern day slavery are children. (cbp.gov)
60% of human trafficking victims were foster kids. (freedomunited.com)
50% of women now in prostitution were once abused children. (newswire.com)
children in foster care move about 7 times, on average, and spend roughly 20 months in foster care before reunification or adoption. (child welfare.gov)
chronic instability creates toxic stress which shapes vulnerability to trafficking.
SOLUTIONS:
The solution is to be there for these children by:
having well trained, licensed foster parents who are committed unconditionally to the children until reunification or adoption takes place.
have those same parents be committed to adopting those children who don’t get reunified with their birth family.
having each foster home loved, supported, and provided for by their local church so that the parents can devote their time and love to the kids.
increase such foster homes across the world until every foster child is truly loved and the cycle of suffering ends.
ACTION STEPS:
consider a monthly commitment to the Esmé Homes. They are committed to foster-to-adopt and loving unconditionally.
by giving monthly you are empowering the house parents to devote their time to the children and provide for them.
the Esmé Home plans to multiply into other states as funds come in. If you can’t personally foster, this is your way to support transformation!
