Born Unwanted
The child was found bungie cord tied in the back of a seatless van with trash around him. When the parents showed up they lied, were noncommittal, and confused. Were they even the parents? Tests proved they were, but their attitudes were so other that it was clear this child was Unwanted.
Intervention placed him where there is no question: He is Very Loved. But the reality of those months of unwanted still whisper at him in nightmares, in certain things that scare him, in the way he stuffs food like it may be the last meal. Actions have consequences. It takes deep and lasting, patient and persistent Love to undo some wounds.
This case, sadly, is not unique. Maybe the exact circumstances of where he was found are, but the being Unwanted is rampant, and how it plays out in the everyday life of countless souls is staggering. What better time then for action? For love? For showing up and being available?
In the First Century the Early Church was known for rescuing babies that had been thrown away. What an honor it is to partner with Impact Teams today who are simply Christians doing that same thing at the Orlindi and Esmé Homes.
This month is Sanctity of Life Month. And one life at a time, one home at a time, we have the privilege of turning unwanted to Wanted, unloved to Loved. Thank you for partnering with us to make this happen. Prayer is crucial, but also having a monthly financial commitment from donors makes it possible to get the food, wash the bedding, change diapers, keep the house clean, and provide a Hope and a Future for these Very Loved Ones. Thank you!
