Just Like Him

One of the Impact Teams has an outreach in their local Red-light District. The brothel is in a hotel, and the hotel is called “Messiah” in their local language. A little unusual, seeing as no one there believes in His Coming. But God gets the last laugh. At that brothel, roughly 60% of those who encounter the team have come to the Lord, chosen to follow the Messiah, and are going back and harvesting the souls of not only their co-workers, but running back to their source countries to share the Good News with family! Isn’t that just like God, to rescue women locked down in a building named for Himself.

Several of the Teams have been working long term rescuing babies from the trash. Babies grow up, and its a delight to see young men and women who’ve been loved well, choose to follow the Messiah and thrive. One of them is off to college to study engineering, another just received a grant to study computer sciences through our donors. Another group of them are being offered discipleship at a local business run by a Christian who is the husband in the team who spearhead outreach at the rescue home. Holistic, full circle, restorative, life-giving, just like Jesus.

Another team is in a region where Shari’a just locked down serious-like. At first the women thought they would have to flee. But one of the Brothers had an idea and worked it out that they could be seamstresses for a garment which is now required by every woman to go out in public. It’s a booming business, and, although this is constraining, un-fair, and just like every others aspect of Shari’a, it is employing a group of women who would otherwise be at high risk of trafficking, because they are widows. They are now providing for orphans, even from the streets. Isn’t that just like God, to step in with a creative solution?

At one of the rescue homes a child showed up without documents in a nation which is super big on identification. Initially we thought it would be a quick fix. Months on, the child is still without. But, as a result he is being protected in a safe house and those whom he was rescued from are unable to track him. Brilliant of God, eh?

One of our teachers developed a crippling hand disease. Someone in another country - who didn’t know her - spoke up in an international zoom call, saying that she felt she was to pray for someone who had this condition. Our teacher was healed instantly, and can now continue to teach. Seen. Known. By God Almighty. Isn’t that just like Him?

I could go on, and you could too. This is why the disciples felt that if everything Jesus did was written down the world could not contain the literature. He is so gracious, so good, so present, so actively at work doing continual miracles and inviting us to step out and be present, walk by faith, and love better than we can by His empowering Grace, so we can be Just Like Him.
