Dividing Hearts

The last time the UN counted refugees nearly 66 million people were tallied. Millions of those are orphans, millions of those orphans have no papers, no family, no identity and are struggling with PTSD, caught between bureaucratic cracks in third and second world nations where education was already sparse and infrastructure abysmal.

But - as terrible as this is, one of the worst issues facing refugees - especially widows and orphans - is the divided hearts of the rest of the world. How did the media manage to put especially Americans and Europeans into two camps in a few short years? If the media is telling the truth, we are two distantly separated people, caught in a political gridlock.

  1. One portion of the population believes that we live in a global world, where we should remove borders, reduce documentation, vaccinate everyone by law, and encourage euthanasia and abortion to curb population control. The wellbeing of the planet should be legislated to be more important than the value of humans. Parents should have limited control over their children. The government knows best, especially when it comes to children’s rights, health, education and futures. Viewpoints, values, and feelings should be seen as crimes if they might possibly be labeled Islamaphobia, xenophobia, or genderphobia. Socialism is in, and anyone who doesn’t tout this view is instantly labeled under-educated. This camp is called Left.

  2. The other portion of the population believes that hard work never hurt anyone. Policemen and farmers are heroes. Everyone should be held accountable for their own actions. All races and both genders are of equal value and should be honored as such. Each country and each state should self govern. Good fences make good neighbors. Good neighbors protect each other, at every stage of life, from conception to death. The issues of climate, population, vaccinations, the role of gender, the effect of Islam on jihad and war, and the curious fomenting of violence as a tool for gun control are all subjects this population study, observe and make choices on as well. But the results are usually a polar opposite to the people who call this group Right-wing and are quick to also call them nationalists in a negative connotation.

My opinion is that there is an agenda afoot trying to get us into two camps so we will self-destruct. While there are very vocal Leftists - many of whom fund or own the main media channels - and a few remaining radical right-wing groups - NEITHER of the extremes of either side represent most of us. Most of us, I believe, would like to love everyone well, but feel rather overwhelmed with the huge reality of 66 million refugees, increasing crime, unrest, and roughly 46 conflicts that qualify as a war in different corners of the planet.

For most people media fatigue is a Real Thing. Compassion Fatigue could be labeled a disease and we could be prescribed meds for it! But neither screaming at rallies or withdrawing into gated communities is changing the reality of the refugees.

Here are a few simple truths:

  1. We are all human and most of us want to love and be loved.

  2. A person becomes a refugee when someone comes and drives them away from their own home in such a violent manner that going back is not safe.

  3. Of the 46 wars on earth, roughly 40 of them are funded, initiated and sustained by jihad. Jihad is an Islamic war which is started to take more territory from neighboring people groups. This is done to get more land or to convert more people. Because Islam dictates that true Muslims should work to bring Shari’a (or Islamic) law to the whole earth, people who truly follow the Quran will get involved in jihad. They can do this by financing it, or by actively going to war.

  4. So the REAL problem is not that there are refugees. The REAL problem is that jihad is destroying homelands and people are fleeing. Not only do they flee, but the tactic of Islam kills the men, and takes the women and children captive. The young boys are sorted out to be child soldiers, the women and girls sex slaves.

  5. Because so many journalists have been killed for speaking the truth about this since 2014 the world of media has gone silent on this issue. Or the media is owned by people who have this agenda.

  6. in a situation of turmoil and war, there are usually several kinds of behaviors that surface. One of these is to fight the frontline war - as jihadis do. Another is to prey on the innocent victims of war. We see this all over the planet.

  7. In the 2015 massive exodus of people who crossed from Turkey into Europe, the reality of refugees became front and center. Some of those people who prey on innocents used this instability. Men who were not refugees, but parasites in their own nations, came and became parasites in Europe. Women and girls were raped, churches were attacked, priests were stabbed. Perhaps this is one more step of jihad, done underhandedly. But it is not welcome behavior, and it has been almost impossible to stop. in fact, I personally know communities in Europe where immigrant, teen boys who are Muslims, and in training for jihad, now stop local men and force them to prove that they are local men. The job of asking to see ID is limited to the police, but there is now so much instability that these teen boys actually have control over these communities. That is NOT good news. Nor is it tolerable or acceptable. But it is also NOT being reported by the media.

  8. This issue has reared it’s ugly head in the Americas as well. Only this time it was woven into a political agenda. Here, quite openly, the “Left” and “Right” were labeled and pitted against each other. Whereas three sequential presidents actively sought to create a way to prevent a mass influx of illegal immigrants, when the concept was actually put into practice, those who brought law and order were attacked as inhumane and hateful.

  9. Having waves of refugees flood into Europe and the Americas has done nothing to stop the wars, stop the jihad, or stem the tide of continued violence. In fact, it has only increased! It is as if there is a fire burning, all along the edges of where there is a majority Islamic population in Asia and Africa, and instead of restricting the fire and challenging it’s spread, we are calling other things fire that are not fire!

  10. THERE IS A TWO-FOLD WAY TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM!!!!

First - understand the root of these wars and empower governments who are dealing with jihad to stop it. If there is corruption and bribery and manipulation, call it for what it is. Empower the media to tell us what is really happening. Stop letting politics and money keep lies from thriving. Yes, this is the job of governments and the UN, but the fact that it needs to be done needs to be said.

Secondly - empower people who live on the cusp of these wars to have strong communities, with schools and hospitals, businesses and infrastructure. Empower them to embrace and take in the refugees locally. This is best done by grassroots folks. Not with government funds, but by helping those who have proven that they don’t run when things get rough. Find these gems, these Impact Teams, who stay and have shown by their active love that they care. They care enough to adopt 57 children, to live at the edge of refugee camps and start schools, safe houses, clinics, and counseling. They see a need and get up and do something about it.

And for those who are divided as Left or Right, realize that there is an agenda distracting folks by dividing hearts so that there is no strength or hope left to be able to do what America and Europe have been good at in the past. They have worked hard and funded missions before. They have sent their best to serve. Let’s step back and ask the right questions. And put our money where our mouths are. If we love refugees, let’s help them go home. Or to a place near home where they can be empowered to rebuild. Taking 66 million people and dragging them around the world until they can be shoved into either Europe or the Americas is a waste of global focus…. unless it is being funded with an equally jihadi mindset - to unsettle and disrupt - as we see happening in Europe. It leaves vast stretches of our potentially beautiful planet scorched ground, being mismanaged by jihadists. If we stop being divided, we could put our minds together on some very sensible actions, and make those current ‘deserts’ bloom again.
