Inside Thailand

Today we want to share an article written about a Sister Outreach in Thailand. This article not only shows how the women being abused suffer. It also shows how the heart, soul, spirit, mind, emotions, and bodies of men suffer when they are lured into the lie and addiction of sex slavery. Please take a moment and read this. As is so aptly put,

“The rescue is easy in comparison to the journey, and most people are not interested in that. People like to see direct results from their money, they want to see the impact.

There is nothing fast about this, it’s a long process and very hard. But no-one wants to hear about that.”

Here’s the Truth. There are millions of generous Christians on the planet. They fund lovingly, they give to the place that it often hurts their wallets. But are we giving wisely? Personally, the first “measuring rod” for discerning giving is to listen to the Holy Spirit. In partnership with this spirit of Holy Wisdom, we are also to use wisdom. Do some research. There are some places where there are hundreds of ministries, NGOs, and government orgs doing things that it would be better to empower the local people to do. In some cases, one needs to check and see if giving is going to a bottomless hole because the local government is using it to line their own pockets. NOT that the people don’t NEED help, it’s just that giving is actually hurting them. And the sad thing is, once that giving is done, the giver may have a “feel good” moment, but those finances are now gone, used up, and can NOT be given to places where finances are being used wisely, but most DON’T MAKE MEDIA HEADLINES in a way that people typically respond to. So, read this article, and then think wisely about giving. If you want to talk with one of our staff counselors about wise giving, reach out to us via our email.
