Just Go

Koko was fourteen when she was kicked out of her home for choosing Jesus. Living at the church, she found a job as a grave digger. That wasn’t her first taste of hardship. Her parents were from different tribes and she had to guard her siblings when they took the six hour walk through the wilderness and mountains between tribes twice a year going from one parent’s home to the other.

Koko wasn’t shy, then, of standing up for others when she took a job abroad and learned that girls like her are expected to not only be at work 24/7 but also be available as household prostitutes. She marched over to the hiring office and began to reprimand them. They were from her home country. How could they? For thanks she was thrown in jail. So she ministered to those around her, starting a cell church. It shouldn’t surprise you that she has gone on to rescue women from human trafficking, learn five languages, and carry multiple passports. And always, the cultural carried through; excellent coffee, served with eloquence.

Today she is at the frontline of a war, doing R&D for a new safe house. She finding out what’s going on, and, like the disciples of the Gospels, reliant on Jesus for everything. He will show the best Way to most effectively reach those most at risk.

Koko exemplifies those CCC is honored to serve and walk alongside of. She is today’s David, swinging that slingshot, confident in her Lord.
